Melanie Mena, project manager
Melanie was first introduced to the internet when it was only available in DOS format. While the internet evolved Melanie moved across the country and started her career on the west coast. She has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors and has worked on projects as small as 10-page annual reports and as large as implementing company-wide software systems. She also has lots of experience working on websites, including her first web project with Raised Eyebrow as the lead designers in 2001.
A certified project manager, Melanie also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and English from Brock University. Like many people living in Vancouver, Melanie grew up in Ontario, but her family’s roots are on the east coast in Newfoundland. As such she has a good sense of humour and has been known to don a Newfie accent to tell a good joke.
Melanie shares her life with two long haired, miniature dachshunds, a tank full of fish and her partner Mark. When not hanging out with them she is usually baking something sweet to eat or making tea pots in the ceramics studio. She also likes to backpack in the BC Coast Mountains and has been diligently trying to turn one of her thumbs green.
