Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives
With five provincial offices and a national office producing a sizable (and ever-expanding) list of publications — most of which are available free of charge — the CCPA needed a website that could function as a kind of online library catalogue, while also providing information about their offices, membership, and issue-specific research projects. So we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on designing a customized document library that would allow the site's visitors to browse and/or search research & publications by author, region, topic, or publication type. We partnered with Pencilneck Software on the programming side, who set up a customized version of their CMS especially for this project.
Beyond the extensive and robust publication library, which forms the heart of the site, we also set up e-commerce so the CCPA could process membership fees and renewals online, as well as selling their books through a small online bookstore.
We're also proud to work with the CCPA on an ongoing basis; recent developments include an email newsletter manager that’s tied into their CMS; RSS feeds; a project-specific site for the CCPA’s Growing Gap public awareness campaign; and an extensive online strategy report that will help expand the CCPA’s online communications over the next several years.
